In the summer of 2013 I joined friends on a month-long road trip through Iceland. Towards the end of the journey we ran into bad weather almost every step of the way, and this particular day had us chased off our campgrounds at the crack of dawn thanks to the wind ripping the tarp off our tent's roof!

Some hours later we arrived at Jökulsárlón -- a lagoon famous for its icebergs that float down a stream and into the ocean, sometimes getting stuck on the black sand beach.

This shot was taken while driving away from the iceberg lagoon, where a stretch of the Ring Road lends a breathtaking view of Vatnajökull, one of the largest glaciers in all of Europe.

Looking at this photo fills me with all kinds of wonder and awe. Iceland, you're amazing.
